Pattaya, located on the Gulf of Thailand just 150 km southeast of Bangkok, is a popular beach resort that can be reached in a mere two-hour drive. While its pulsating nightlife is well-known, local authorities have worked to improve the quality of the beaches and reinvent the resort as a more family-friendly destination.

Places to see in Pattaya

Today, hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to Pattaya each year to take advantage of its many activities, such as windsurfing, water skiing, swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, sailing, and trips to nearby islands. For the more adventurous, there are bungee jumping, cycling, skydiving, go-karting, Muay Thai (Thai boxing), and paintball. Golfers of all levels are also well-catered to, with a wide selection of golf courses around Pattaya.

Additionally, the resort offers a wide selection of restaurants serving some of Thailand’s freshest seafood, as well as authentic foreign eateries serving French, Italian, Swiss, German, Hungarian, Scandinavian, English, Indian, Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine.

Khao Chee Chan Buddha mountain is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and visitors are asked to dress modestly and follow the rules. It is also important to keep a safe distance from the Buddha to avoid any accidents.

For those looking for a one-day trip, Koh Lan is a great option. On the island, there are minibuses and motorbike taxis available for hire, or you can rent a motorbike and explore the island yourself.

At night, Pattaya Road is full of entertainment options, with plenty of places to eat, drink, and relax.
